Retractable roofing systems are the perfect way to protect your entertaining area from the harsh Australian sun. They are a great shade solution and can reduce your energy cost for cooling during the warmer months. They also allow to you expand your entertaining area during the cooler months and inclement weather.
Climate architecture takes into consideration seasonality, the direction of the sun (sun path and solar position), natural shade provided by surrounding topography, environmental factors (such as wind, rainfall and humidity – studies show that 80% of heat transfer into a dwelling is from windows and glass).
Southern Shutters can design many types of retractable roofing systems to suit your outdoor entertaining needs. We offer the Lumex retractable roof system, the VZ520, and also the fully weather-proof Suntech roof system. The Suntech has a full guttering system that can be plumbed into your existing storm water drainage.
